FREE APNEA COURSE

Do you want to discover the underwater world and see what your body and mind are capable of ?

Apnea is diving without breathing, being in and underwater while holding your breath. It is also known as Freediving.

Today, most people associate freediving with images of superhumans diving into the darkest depths of the ocean with only the air in their lungs, the power of their bodies and the will of their minds to keep them alive and bring them back.

Yet every time you dive into the water and hold your breath you are a diver, exploring our water world from the shallow waters to the occasional deep. Today there are many specialized apnea training centers around the world that offer training courses and training in freediving and scuba diving.

Whether you are a first-time diver or already have freediving experience, on a Apnea Course you will work to get the most out of your skill while making it fun and improving your confidence in the water.

If you have not completed a Freediving Course, it is not recommended to do any ‘home training’. Free diving is, in many ways, a very safe sport, but without formal training it can be dangerous. So, if you are interested in freediving and scuba diving, it is time to train yourself formally by taking a Freediving Course.

What are the Apnea Courses ?

A Freediving Course is a short term training program, which offers essential knowledge for the practice of freediving and scuba diving. This course provides relaxation techniques and air support for a few minutes underwater. The Apnea Course offers training in the pool, covering static breathing and dynamic apnea. You will learn how to perform free diving and rescue of fellow divers in depth.

In this course you will also learn how to dive at depth in open water. Lines and cords will be used for this segment of the course for your safety and the focus will be on relaxation and deep diving posture. Generally the Apnea Courses offer: free diving manual, slides, educational videos, among other materials, which have been specially designed to provide a specific sequence of topics and help acquire the knowledge that the learning material of these courses offers.

Once the course is completed and subject to favorable instructor evaluation, the student will be awarded a Free Diving Academy Award. Technical tests in pools and in open water are usually videotaped to facilitate technical improvements. Freediving courses generally require participants to be 12 or 16 years of age or older to take the course, however this will depend on the institution and the level of the course taught.
