What are the Upholstery Courses ?

An Upholstery Course is a training program that covers the basics of traditional and modern upholstery processes. This course teaches the techniques used in the furniture industry.

This course provides comprehensive training in all practical and theoretical aspects of the upholstery trade. Participants will learn how to make upholstery, including dismantling and assembling furniture and selecting, cutting, sewing and fitting fabric and leather upholstery materials.

Students in this course will have the opportunity to fix wobbles and other minor repairs to chair frames, as well as receive and orientation on various wood finishes.

Generally in an Upholstery Course students will have full access to a well equipped upholstery workshop and most of the teaching will be through hands-on experience in their own projects. There will be set exercises to complete and tutors will help students evaluate their own work in private and group tutorials throughout the course.

These courses are taught by an experienced professional upholsterer, who will guide you through your learning, and teach you specialized skills to ensure you have a general foundation.
