FREE BACHELOR IN BIOIMAGING

From the appearance of image production technologies a vast field of knowledge is built up, which requires specialists with a high degree of training.

The degree in Bioimaging enables the student to produce images suitable for medical diagnosis from the application of conventional and highly complex techniques.

The Bachelor in Bioimaging or Bioimaging Production assumes the responsibility for the operational state of the system, the correct and efficient administration of methods and techniques, as well as the quality of the product and the scientific reading of the image interpretation.

The graduate of a Bioimaging degree has a profile of a competent professional in the knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology and their expression in image diagnosis.

He also has a high capacity for permanent research accompanying the technological development and a reflective attitude towards the problems of the community.

The training of this degree enables its graduate to recognize the biological, subjective and socio-cultural needs of the assisted, as well as to assume social and leadership responsibilities.

This degree generally lasts between 3 and 4 years depending on the house of study and its program.

Some universities offer similar or related and even more specific degrees within the field of Bioimaging, such as Bachelor of Science in CAT Scan Technology, Bachelor of Science in Radiology, among others.

To become certified to perform CT scans, radiology technicians must obtain a degree in radiography. A Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology program helps students who want to expand their knowledge and skills.

Most educational advances can be achieved by working with a physician in a specialized area of radiologic technology, such as CT scanning, mammography, MRI, or biological dosimetry. Some schools offer classes to help students qualify for certification in these areas.

What Does a Bioimaging Graduate Do ?

The bioimaging graduate is trained to:

  • Control the operational conditions of conventional and highly complex equipment of the Diagnostic Imaging Service.
  • Supervise the correct use of the specific equipment, the transitory and/or final disposition of the risk material and the exposure times to which patients and technical personnel are submitted.
  • To apply, by medical and/or odontological indication, the high complexity methods to obtain the images and records that can be used in the medical diagnosis.
  • Evaluate and judge the quality of the images and records resulting from the application of conventional and highly complex methods, techniques and procedures.
  • Process and order the sensitive material used in the conventional and high complexity area in the Diagnostic Imaging Service.
  • To participate in the planning, organization, execution and evaluation of the operational strategies of the Diagnostic Imaging Service.
  • Plan and execute research in the area of competence.
  • Collaborate in the implementation of radio-protection and biosafety criteria for the occupational and non-occupational population.
  • To provide, under the indication and supervision of the Specialist Doctor, the emergent care of situations derived from the application of highly complex methods and procedures.

The profile of the graduate and his training allows him to have several options in the labor field of the health sector, he can occupy positions in:

Clinics, technical leadership, management, collaborate in the implementation of radioprotection criteria and formulate standards. Advising both in health institutions and in the equipment production industry. Research and teaching.
